MU6 has been successfully installed! Thanks to Jonathan A. Zdziarski <jonathan@cafejesus.com> who immediately responded with "try copying the patch to /var/spool/pkg and adding it." I copied the patch to /var/spool/pkg and patchadded it without a problem. To get the rest of MU6 installed, I moved all the files from Solaris_8_MU6/sparc/Patches into /var/spool/pkg, and started the MU update with ./install_mu -p /var/spool/pkg. Thanks also to Casper Dik <Casper.Dik@Sun.COM> who noted: > You probably also need to run with an umask of 022 and the > *containing* directories must also all be more 555 or better. (The > entire path leading up to the directory you have unpackaed the patches > in must be world readable). I didn't have a chance to try this suggestion.
