Hi all, Logged a call with Sun and they have recognised this as a bug with IDE drives and disksuite 4.2.1. Something to do with the internal disk numbers which IDE drives don't have and SCSI disks do !!!! A patch is being developed in the states at the moment !! Thanks for the help from those who replied ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Admins, Please disregard my previous e-mail !! I put the wrong disk slices in the e-mail !! This is how it should have read !! Admins, I have just jumpstarted a Netra X1 with Solaris 8 Succesfully and am now trying to install Disksuite 4.2.1. I have installed all of the Solaris 8 recommended patches, but still have a problem !!! I do the following : # metainit d10 1 1 c0t0d0s0 # metainit d11 1 1 c0t2d0s0 Then get : error: c0t2d0s2 overlaps with device in d10 Now my question is : How the hell can the devices overlap when they are on 2 different drives ????? I have check my disk partition and there is no overlap in the partitioning of the slices !! And I have done this exact same config on systems other that X1. So, I am assuming that this is an X1 / IDE problem !! If anyone has any ideas please e-mail !!! Thanks Matthew Keen _____________________________________________________________________________ http://store.yahoo.com.au - Yahoo!
