Thanks to Leonid Massarskiy and Alan Thew, their replies below. But actually it did not solve my problem , maybe its my fault, I did not explain the whole story. We have an eFax application installed on a different machine, it logs on to the IMAP account installed on the Solaris 2.6 and reads messages off the inbox. This application does multiple access to the account, there is no problem in that. The problem is the supplier of this eFax application is saying their software is not functioning properly with UW-IMAP be cause it has some connection time out which causes the IMAP session to break . I thought if there are configurations to be done on the IMAP server to solve this problem ? Alan Thew wrote , UW has a 30 min inactivity time out by default, is this what you see? We've run with it for ages with no problem. ------ Leonid Massarskiy wrote, IMAP timeouts can occur when user have a huge mailbox, which imapd is not able to process within the timeout period set by the mail client. You can handle it either by having users who have huge mailboxes clean them up or by increasing timeout settings in their mail clients. > I installed an IMAP4 server (UW-IMAP4rev1 2000.284) on Solaris 2.6.
