Got some good advice on this, but the solution was simply to apply the 2.6Recommended patches. The interface came up without a hitch. bernard.mcauley@mindspeed.com knew this. Thanks! Hi, This is a common problem and is related to CPU speed (CPU's greater than 333MHz I think!). You need to update your kernel revision to be greater than 15. The recommended patches should fix this, sun do have specific hardware release that fixes this problem (HW98 I think?!). Hope this helps, Bernard McAuley, Mindspeed Technologies, Some good suggestions to other people with "link down" problems who will find this summary in a keyword search: Anand Chouthai <anandc@us.ibm.com> Hi, You have to check the autonegotiation. You should have ndd -set /dev/hme adv_autoneg_cap 1 which will autonegotiate.
