I asked: > I have a simple question. I am curious to know if admins are happy at your > site with the Sun-shipped sendmail (version 8.9.3 on Solaris 7 boxes) or if > you have thrown it out in favor of the latest version from sendmail.org > (version 8.11.4, I believe). Results: Drop sun-shipped sendmail like it is a live snake. Although in my question all I suggested as an alternative was to get the newer sendmail, seven people still responded with throwing out sendmail entirely and going with something else. I hadn't even thought of that; now I will look at them. The poll results are: use newest sendmail from sendmail.org 7 switch to postfix 3 switch to qmail 3 switch to anything other than sendmail (qmail or postfix) 1 use the sun-shipped sendmail 1 Thanks to: Noel Hunt <nhunt@lehman.com> Patricia Max <pam@lampinc.com> Bill Fenwick <bill@digicomp.com> Jay Lessert <jayl@accelerant.net> Bill Hebert <techbill@pacbell.net> Tim Chipman <chipman@ecopiabio.com> "Mike Peppard" <mpeppard@impole.com> "Gerald Combs" <gcombs@netisinc.com> Chris Palmer <cecibean@bitstream.net> Chris Cariffe <chris@zippy.baydat.org> Kevin Reichhart <KReichhart@Yantra.com> Hindley Nick <nick.hindley@lbhf.gov.uk> "Michael DeSimone" <michael@desimone.net> Walt Sullivan <Walt.Sullivan@edgeflow.com> "Erin Jones" <erin@internationalcomputing.com> +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Christopher L.
