I got one response which I think answered my question completely. Rather than paraphrase, I have included the text of Dan Astoorian's message immediately below, with my original question below that. Thanks very much Dan. --- Just ran into this today myself. According to a 'bug report' article on SunSolve (BugID=4298824), the cgthree framebuffer is no longer supported in Solaris 7. They still include a 32-bit driver for the cgthree, but no 64-bit driver seems to be included in the Solaris packages. Upgrade the framebuffer to a supported card, or run in 32-bit mode. --- On Mon, 11 Jun 2001 17:30:08 EDT, "Gallagher, Tim" writes: > > Ultra -1 w/ standard graphics card, 2.7 installed w/64 bit, it boots fine to > 64 bit. > > It runs fine with X in 32 bit mode, but in 64 bit mode it can't find the fram > e buffer device. > > Any thoughts on this? Will summarize. Thanks. Tim GallagherReceived on Tue Jun 12 00:24:51 2001
