A:

the answer is this:

pkgadd -a none -d .

although the installation keeps asking for the instances' root_dir it works
great.

adding the -R /usr/java1.2.2_07 is duplicating or will fail if you don't
select an absolute path.

-----Original Message-----
hi,

i'm trying to install the latest jdk in a specific directory.

when i run:

pkgadd -d . -R /usr/java1.2.2_07

pkgadd wants to install the packages in /usr/java1.2.2_07/usr

i've also tried:

pkgadd -d . -M -R /usr/java1.2.2_07 without success.

although i can move /usr/java1.2 and rename both after the install, but...

why doesn't pkgadd install where i want on this solaris8 server?
