plumb the hme interface..Very simple but I missed it.
Once again thanks to all who responded!!!

Question:
=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D
Hi all,
i am working in 50 sun machine environement (single network). I am facing=
 some problem in ultra1 machine.
I have two network card in my Ultra 1 sun box.hme0(on board) and le0(Addi=
tional Sbus card).I have assigned the following ip :

ifconfig le0 192.200.9.53 up
ifconfig hme0 192.200.20.53 up

The problem:

whenever i restart the machine the hme0 is assigned with ip address 192.2=
00.9.58.

I suppose this machine had ip address 192.200.9.58 earlier and one of the=
sys admin changed this ip to 192.200.9.53 due to ip clash (finding that =
58 is assigned to another ultra 10 machine ).

setting:

/etc/hosts =

192.200.9.53 systema
192.200.20.53 systemb

/etc/hostname.le0 having entry systemb
/etc/hostname.hme0 having entry systema

I done a sys-unconfig on the machine .still for hem0 it is showing 192.20=
0.9.58 after restart.I removed hme0 patch code from the network thinking=
that some other machine is assigning IP .did not help.

is there anyway to change the ip address of hme0 to 192.200.9.53.

i have something like this in /var/adm /messages:

in.rdiscd[114] setsockopt (IP-MULTICAST-IF)no route to host
in.rdiscd[114] cannot send multicast packet over interface 192.200.20.53
in.rdiscd[114]send to resource temporarly unavaiable.

any answers ????Will summarise.
