SUMMARY:Disable RIP services

There is two different suggestions.

First one is to turn off rip service by creating a file /etc/notrouter as in

% touch /etc/notrouter

and add the default route to /etc/defaultrouter   and then reboot the
server.

Second one is to comment out the pertinent lines in /etc/init.d/inetinit
(routed).
