SUMMARY (sort of): Cannot assign requested address

Hello Managers -

I never did determine the cause or solution for the original problem,
so I ended up removing the second NIC and then doing the jumpstart.
That worked fine. After the box was built, I reinstalled the NIC and
configured hme1 by hand. That wouldn't be pretty if I had a bunch of
boxes to jumpstart, but I only had to do four :)

Thanks to the following for suggestions...

by default sun hardware uses the system mac for network mac. With two
network cards you need to use the mac on each card.

At the eeprom "ok" prompt type:
setenv local-mac-address? true

Switch the cables on the NICs. hme0 is on a different subnet than hme1 and
the boot server is on the subnet with hme1. That's my guess anyway.

What IP address are you using. Stupid question, but is it a proper address ?
ie no number > 255 in it ?

Are you sure that you are assigning it to the correct interface? My
knowledge of jumpstart is a little low, but I have seen this message come up
when people have given hostname.hmu0 instead of hostname.hme0
