--=====================_18968985==_.ALT Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"; format=flowed Many thanks to Steven Christians, Bill Fay, John Kennedy, Mark McManus, Frederic Piard, Dilip Raj, Blair Ramplin, Alex Stade, and Michael Sullivan for your terrific responses to my question. Basically responses broke down into the following categories: * Where to find copies of pcnfsd. * Packages to support AppleTalk on Solaris. * Try pcnetlink, should come with Solaris 8. * pcnfsd won't work on Solaris 8. Since the user who wants to access these files (read only) is on a different network, I don't think AppleTalk will do the trick. Our local router only routes IP protocols. I will try and find pcnetlink, and see if it will do the trick. I am also going to try building pcnfsd from the latest sources I can find, and then see if it will run on Solaris 8. If it works, I will get back to the list with the results. If anyone is interested in the sites for pcnfsd or AppleTalk, send me an email message and I will send you a list. ===================================================================== Original Message: I have a user who needs to access some Solaris files from his Mac using MacNFS. This package requires pcnfsd to be running on Solaris. Solaris 8 no longer supports pcnfsd. I believe that pcnfsd used to come with Solaris 2.6 or 2.5. Does anyone know the package name for pcnfsd? Or where I could get an old Solaris copy of pcnfsd? --=====================_18968985==_.ALT Content-Type: text/html; charset="us-ascii"

Many thanks to Steven Christians, Bill Fay, John Kennedy, Mark McManus, Frederic Piard, Dilip Raj, Blair Ramplin, Alex Stade, and Michael Sullivan for your terrific responses to my question.

Basically responses broke down into the following categories:

Where to find copies of pcnfsd.
Packages to support AppleTalk on Solaris.
Try pcnetlink, should come with Solaris 8.
pcnfsd won't work on Solaris 8.
Since the user who wants to access these files (read only) is on a different network, I don't think AppleTalk will do the trick.
