Thanks to Trevor Ellermann and Tim Evans, both of whom pointed me to the /var/adm/messages file. To quote from Trevor's message: I was having this exact problem recently too. Here is what I did: I was getting this error in /var/adm/messages: Aug 28 11:12:03 tiquini hsfs: [ID 450429 kern.notice] NOTICE:hsfs:hsnode table full, 221 nodes allocated, Aug 28 11:12:03 tiquini hsfs: [ID 111760 kern.notice] hsfs: consider increasing # of hsnodes using Aug 28 11:12:03 tiquini hsfs: [ID 806515 kern.notice] hsfs: 'set hsfs:nhsnode=num' in /etc/system Aug 28 11:12:03 tiquini hsfs: [ID 858973 kern.notice] hsfs: and rebooting So, adding this line to the end of /etc/system and rebooting fixed the problem set hsfs:nhsnode=5000 A smaller value - I tried hsfs:nhsnode=2048 - also worked as well. Thanks again ... -RichardReceived on Wed Oct 24 12:21:58 2001
