SUMMARY:Ugrading E250

Sorry for the late submission.
Well I got response from

Jed Dobson;
This is incorrect, the Sun E250 has a 100 MHz system clock. The PCI bus
however does run at 33 MHz (which is pretty standard). The new CPU will
improve things. It has 2 MB of L2 cache.  Your best memory configuration

would be to fill all available slots (16) with the same size modules
this
will correctly interleave the memory and give you best performance.

Well, there is actually a jumper setting that you have to change to
enable
the upgrade.
400mhz modules will not run in 3:1 mode. Jumper J3001 needs to
be 2-3 to set 4:1 mode.

The only bus that is 33mhz on that box is the PCI bus.  The processor
clocks at 100.
