Wow, I never cease to be amazed by this list. Thanks to Casper Dik, Peter Laws, Mike Salehi, Fortunato Ugo Sion, Dave Stern and Russ Poffenberger (and still they are coming in)..... Just to clarify I want to keep dtlogin so that users can still select from OpenWindows, FailSafe and Gnome. I just don't want users to get to CDE. Casper hit the nail on the head : You actually can: create /etc/dt/config/C/Xresources (cp from /usr/dt/config/C if not already installed) and change: Dtlogin*altDts: 1 to Dtlogin*altDts: 0 (and optionally remove the CDE Dtlogin lines right below it) This is just what I was looking for. All the other Session options remain, just CDE doesn't appear any more. Many thanks once again and happy holidays to all. Cheers, Adam. ----------------------Original Message------------------------------------ > Hi All, > > I need a hack to stop people logging into CDE via the dtlogin banner on > SPARC Solaris 7 and 8.
