SOLUTION: http://www.sun.com/products-n-solutions/hw/networking/solutions/sunsnetra.htm The answer is to go to the above webpage and follow the link to Netra X1 "Software Drivers" (on the right) to eventually get to a file which looks something like "mis.netra-x1.259-3836-03.zip" (may be updated in the future to reflect a different filename). Special thanks to Richard J. Buchman for the link, and the following people for their quick responses: Brent Killion Steve Mickeler Tom McMurtrey Rodica Alexandru Stan Hiller Stan mentioned that I should run the following command to solve my problem: # add_drv -b /path_to_install_server/Solaris_2.8/Tools/Boot \ -m '* 0600 root sys' -i '"pci128h,9102" "pci1282,9102" "ethernet"' -v dmfe Which unfortunatly probably won't work since I'm on the jumpstart server not on the client. It's a useful command (modifies /etc/path_to_inst I believe) in other circumstances which is why I've listed it. The original problem was that I could't even get the client to boot unless the dmfe driver and configuration files are contained under: jupstart:/path_to_install_server/Solaris_2.8/Tools/Boot/platform/SUNW,UltraAX-i2/kernel/drv Although I was using Solaris 8 10/01 it doesn't seem that the default jumpstart install will contain what I need. There was no instance of dmfe or the package, I had to grab the software from Sun. One additional note: you cannot jumpstart a NetraX1 using a Solaris x86 Jumpstart server. Fortunately I was using a SPARC Jumpstart server, so that wasn't my issue. Thanks again!! -- Greg Gallagher Sr. UNIX Systems Administrator First Options Chicago ....
