Hi All First, thanks to the two people who replied. Did not really help me unfortunately. Solution As the drive was an oem version of the Sony SDT7000, I decided to try downloading the latest Sony Firmware from their website and try updating the drive. This worked first time and then I was able to use the Sony config info to config the /kernel/drv/st.conf file and switch settings to set-up the drive. All worked 100%. Original Question: ------------------ Hi All I have an old DEC TLZ09 DDS2 tape I want to get working on my U5 which has a X5010A SCSI controller. I can see the drive with probe-scsi-all and have tried various mods to switch settings (it is an oem version of the Sony SDT-7000) and to /kernel/drv/st.conf. All have failed to bring the drive in with a boot -r. Any ideas on what to try next? O/S is 2.7, but willing to try 8 if that will help.
