No responses to this one so can't summarize. ------------- Begin Forwarded Message ------------- Date: Tue, 12 Feb 2002 12:30:32 -0700 (MST) From: Barry Gamblin <bgamblin@mailhost> Subject: nis+, samba, FNS and printers To: sunmanagers@sunmanagers.org I have a network running nis+ and my printers are being served via an FNS context. The nis+ master is also running samba and serving printers via smb to Windows 2000 and Windows 98 clients. There is some problem in the setup that I have been unable to track down where my printers disappear and reappear. I am thinking of junking the FNS but I am not sure of the way to go about it. How do you remove the entire ctx_dir? Will that have effects other than on the printers? Has anyone done such a thing before? Any help would be appreciated. (I'm also thinking of moving from nis+ to regular old nis. Anyone done that?) Barry Barry S.
