I got a bunch of replies. They seemed to be split 3 ways almost equally: (1) Lauding VNB (it's great & covers everything), (2) trashing VNB (more trouble and difficulty than it's worth), and (3) "why don't you look at Amanda?" Did end up with a good reference or two that we may actually contact who are not too terribly far from us. I actually am looking at Amanda as an alternative. However, since the NT systems people are driving this, I don't want to be in the position of imposing a solution and then having them point a finger at me. So, let them choose Veritas (and eat cake too if they like). If they can get the funding for it, it should be a reasonable solution. If it is a lot of trouble to install and maintain, then it's on them and not on me. There is no money for training for anyone. ;,) --------------- Chris Hoogendyk -- O__ ---- Network Specialist & Unix Systems Administrator c/ /'_ --- Library Information Systems & Technology Services (*) \(*) -- W.E.B.
