Sorry that this summary is late. I posted the question in December and the drive was only installed last week. Hey.. I work at a government lab.. One reply pointed me to: http://sunblade100.wells.org.uk/cache/10.html which indicated a 100gig drive would be no problem. I installed a 100Gig Maxtor drive <Maxtor 4W100H6 cyl 47966 alt 2 hd 16 sec 255> on a Blade 100 running Solaris 8 4/01 and had no problems at all. As a logging file system it ends up being about 92Gig. Filesystem 1k-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on /dev/dsk/c0t2d0s6 96345075 65553 96279522 1% /scratch Sun actually sells a Blade 100 with two 7200 RPM drives, so adding this 5400 RPM drive should add less heat.
