Thanks go to Michael Hocke. He made me to check the /etc/printers.conf file carefully again, and I found the problem there. I have an old entry, its print server is named qele. I used to have a machine called qele. Now since qele is no longer in /etc/hosts or our DNS A record, and I have the following in my /etc/nsswitch.conf # consult /etc "files" only if nis is down. hosts: nis [NOTFOUND=return] files dns so sun resolve the name as the following PING qele: 56 data bytes 64 bytes from 210.73.90.246: icmp_seq=0. time=252. ms That is where the ip address 210.73.90.246 comes from.
