I am curious to know if anyone > else has nuked ANDIrand in favor of 112438-01 and how it is working. Summary: Each responder said something different: Install it if you care about SUN support. Upgrade ANDIrand from 0.6 to 0.7. They are the same; OpenSSH seems a little faster with the patch. use PRNGD instead. Since I care about Sun support, I will replace ANDIrand with the Sun patch. I am going to do it as a server needs to be rebooted anyway, since patch 112438-01 requires a reboot. Andrew J. Caines posted a question about installing this without a reboot, but I was unable to get my test servers to honor the new hardware randomness without a reboot. Since ANDIrand is sufficient, I am not in a horrible rush to get this patch on all of my solaris 8 servers.
