Summary: Huge Xsun process

Hi all,

Thanks to Sunrender Dinkar, Fletcher, Joe, Ed Alexande for their
suggestion and sincere help . 

In fact, the issue happens usually when my colleagues run Cadence
virtuoso for layout design. I applied OS patches recommended by Cadence
support engineer and till now it work fine ! The following is generally
required patches for our problem. To address the issue as exactly as
possible and get corresponding application engineer support is a good
idea.

	109147-12 (Linker patch)
	108434-06 (Shared library patch for C++)
	108435-06 (Shared library patch for 64bit C++
	108652-47 (Xsun patch)
	108940-40 (Motif Runtime patch)
	108921-14 (CDE 1.4: dtwm patch)
	110383-02 (libnvpair patch)
	108528-12 (kernel update patch)
	108727-14 (/kernel/fs/nfs and /kernel/fs/sparcv9/nfs patch) 
	108606-21 (M64 Graphics Patch)

To run Sun PatchPro Expert
(http://swweb1d.sun.com/servlet/com.sun.patchpro.servlet.PatchProServlet
) is also necessary to analyze your system and generate patch list for
reference.

Hi all,

There's one problem puzzlied me that several workstations were found
screen frozen sometimes. When running "top" utility, we discover that
maybe Xsun process is the cause, which is taking up between 40~78M of
memory and 98% CPU usage !!!

Below is HW/Software configurations of workstations having above issues,
*	Sun Ultra10, PGX24 Graphics( 8bit depth color displays), 512M
RAM, Solaris8 with 1/3/02 Recommend Patches and special patches(include
"108652-47, Xsun patch", "108606-20, M64patches etc.) installed;
*	Sun Blade100, PGX64 Graphics( 8bit depth color displays), 2G
RAM, Solaris8 with 1/3/02 Recommend Patches and special patches(include
"108652-47, Xsun patch", "108606-20, M64patches etc.) installed;

Could anyone kindly share your experience with me ? Thank you very much.
