Hiya Thanks to people who replied: Giles Gamon, Stephen Forbes, Robert Clift, Steve Mickeler, Adam Kirby, Mangesh, Bob Boldin, Nick Hindley, David Harringtron, Pierre Zimmerman, Hichael Morton and Cian O'Sullivan. The consensus (by 11 to 1) was that it wouldn't cause any problems. Various people suggested running drvconfig or touch /reconfigure after doing this to ensure no remnants of devices remained. I unplugged it and nothing fell over :) I'm going the touch /reconfigure route, next routine reboot will sort it out Thanks a stack :) Steven > -----Original Message----- > From: Haywood, Steven [mailto:shaywood@hurricaneseye.com] > Sent: Tuesday, April 16, 2002 11:57 AM > To: 'sunmanagers@sunmanagers.org' > Subject: Hot plug scsi > > > Hiya > > Does anyone have any thoughts on the implications of just > unplugging a scsi > tape drive from the scsi port on an E4500 IO board?
