SUMMARY: bad ELF Flags value: 256

sorry for the late summary.

The answer from a Swiss Kernel Engineer at Sun Microsystems indicates that 
there is no possibility to get around this because of SPARC architecture 
requirements  V7 verses V8

The directory server versions  4.14+ and iDS5.x contain Smartheap 6.x
whereas ds 4.13 ond older contaoned smartheap version 4.x. SH 6.x contains
assembler code which makes use of an atomic instruction (CASA) only
available on SPARC V8plus - so the platform requirements for 4.15 are the
same as for 5.0
