Does exist a thirdy party ethernet NIC for Solaris/sparc ? YES ZNYX 345q, is a single rj45 channel PCI ethernet card, with drivers for Solaris sparc and x86: http://www.znyx.com/ There are plenty of ZNTX ethernet cards supported by Solaris/sparc also multi channel ethernet cards. THre are drivers on the web site for Solaris and the installation is simple, just using pkgadd. Also LSI ethernet cards are supported but looking at the web site then I Am not able to being pointed to the correct Solaris/sparc driver download. I do not know if support for LSI (symbios) logic NICs is embedded by default into Solaris 8.
