SUMMARY: BASEDIR change from request script goes unnoticed..

Looks like somone else had a similar problem at around the same time I did
with this very situation:

Solution:

Problem solved by including "cat > $1 <<EOM" within the 'checkinstall'
script.
This is what we were missing and once it was added, our problem was solved.

A few people suggested using a different answer file, however this puts the
onus back onto the administrator installing the package, which is not what I
was after.  The basedir needs to be done calculated by the package install
scripts.
