They suggested me to use 02/00 Operating Environment CD to start installation. I found some sites regarding this porblem and also the problems with E450 so visit these sites to get more details. http://www.darklab.net/docs/wcd00012/wcd0123e.htm http://sunsolve.sun.com/pub-cgi/retrieve.pl?doc=fsrdb%2F24408&zone_32=SRDB%2024408 http://sunsolve.sun.com/pub-cgi/retrieve.pl?doc=fsrdb%2F20576&zone_32=2.6%20installation#top Reply from Darren. No version of Solaris 2.6 (or 2.5.1) can boot a machine with CPUs faster than 419 MHz. Any machine sold by sun with such CPUs will come with a "operating environment CD". It allows you to boot the machine and then install either 2.5.1 or 2.6. It also has scripts that can modify an existing 2.5.1 or 2.6 jumpstart server so that it can successfully boot a "fast" machine. If you could get the OS on the disk, then all that is required is a current set of recommended patches. Unfortunately that's not necessarily easy without that CD. Reply from Sean The minimum supported Solaris 2.6 version is HW 5/98. It will install with 02/00 Operating Environment CD because it incorporates kernel patch 105181-19 but will not install with previous OECD versions. Thanks again Vijay Original mail : I have E450 with 4CPU, 480Mhz and 4 Harddisk of 36Gb.
