After you have saved the file you will need to reset machine of restart powerd. ======================================================================== === Simply by removing the execute bit on the program itself ! chmod a-x /usr/openwin/bin/sys-suspend Simon. ================================================================ Darryl, Try this (you must be root): 1. Open the file /usr/openwin/lib/speckeysd.map 2. Comment out the line below - # SunPowerSwitch - $OPENWINHOME/bin/sys-suspend 3. log out and log back in Now when the Power button is hit, the message window asking if the suspend mode is desired will not come up any more (the default button is 'suspend', which will switch off the power). chimo, -deb ======================================================================== ==== Follow the link... http://sunsolve.sun.com/pub-cgi/retrieve.pl?doc=finfodoc%2F21606&zone_32 =power%20button Also I believe if you have a server with an actual key switch, turning it to the "locked" position should prevent that button from working, I know for sure that it prevents the use of the stop key combinations from working (like Stop-a) ======================================================================== ====== The anser is easily found via google. here's the link. http://groups.google.ca/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&selm=8vu9cl%2 4is2%241%40agate.berkeley.edu _______________________________________________ sunmanagers mailing list sunmanagers@sunmanagers.org http://www.sunmanagers.org/mailman/listinfo/sunmanagersReceived on Tue Aug 20 15:36:42 2002
