First of all, I would like to say thanks to : Hichael Morton, Michael Connolly Phillip Miller, LTiu I built another Ultra 5 with Solaris 8 10-2001, then installed the SunPCI software 1.3. The pkgadd ends with a "succesfully" .And it works, at least I could be able to create a C drive for Dos. The following is part of the output of prtconf -D that show the existence of the 400Mhz SunPCI card. pci, instance #1 (driver name: simba) pci108e,5043, instance #0 (driver name: sunpcidrv) Then, perhaps the SUNPci software 1.3 has some conflicted things with Solaris 9 ? Anyway, thanks again to everybody. DT --------------------------------------- The original question : Hi all, I just installed a SUNPCI 400Mhz on Ultra 5 with Solaris 9. Looking at Sun site, I installed the SunPci software 1.3. I have two questions: 1. How do I know if OBP recognizes the SUNPCI card ? ( I 've had touch /reconfigure and reboot ) 2. When adding the package SUNWspci, I get the following error: [...] /opt/SUNWspci/tables/keytables/dos_kb_us [ verifying class <none> ] ## Executing postinstall script. Warning: /etc/devlink.tab not updated correctly Perhaps the system OBP needs to be updated Can not open the SunPCi device The device driver is not installed. pkgadd: ERROR: postinstall script did not complete successfully Installation of <SUNWspci> partially failed. I tried the software 2.3.1 and got similar error. Please give me some advice, Thanks, DT Yahoo!
