Thanks to all that replied so quickly. I really appreciate the quick response. When I searched the archives it appeared the answers was WU-ftpd, but now the tides have changed. My Original question What is the most sucure way to FTP files across the internet? I have a Solaris 8 system. Below are two the answers, everyone was indicating openssh The best method is Secure Shell. This is freely available at www.sunfreeware.com. There is also a Sun Blueprints document on how to install the components required for Secure Shell as well. This document can be found at www.sun.com/blueprints Since you are on Solaris 8, visit http://www.openssh.org and install the latest & greatest version of OpenSSH. This utility ships with scp (secure copy) and sftp (secure ftp). Solaris 9 ship with theses utilities as part of the operating system. Thanks again to everyone New DSL Internet Access from SBC & Yahoo! http://sbc.yahoo.com _______________________________________________ sunmanagers mailing list sunmanagers@sunmanagers.org http://www.sunmanagers.org/mailman/listinfo/sunmanagersReceived on Wed Oct 2 11:11:03 2002
