Hi All

Thanks for speedy replies from

General concensus is that VxVM should create it's own licence when it sees a
A5X00 sub-system without needing any input from the user. Not so sure about
VxFS, one person believed it was separately licenced, but apparently the
VxVM is the major cost item anyway.

Thanks again

Peter

We have a customer who wants to take a second user A5000 array and run it
under Veritas Volume Manager/File system on an Ultra 2. When these units
were new they came with a restricted Veritas licence apparently from Sun.
The question is, is the licence implicit with Veritas and no further action
is required to use the software or does he have to get further information
or does he have to buy full new licence?

Thanks

Peter
