Hey everyone: Thanks for all of the responses. It appears that you can indeed change a kernel parameter in live time, so I've set my tcp_time_wait_interval at 2 minutes to see how it works for now. I was going to do 60 seconds, but I figured 2 minutes should suffice for now. Any suggestions on whether or not that is too low? I'd guess that 2 minutes should be fine..., but I'm not 100% sure on what part of the TCP transmission that TIME_WAIT comes into play. I'll have to do some more research... The command: /usr/sbin/ndd -set /dev/tcp tcp_time_wait_interval 120000 Thanks for all you help, have a g'day:) - ------------------------------------ Giovanni Navarrette USLink Internet Systems Administrator e-Mail | gio@uslink.net _______________________________________________ sunmanagers mailing list sunmanagers@sunmanagers.org http://www.sunmanagers.org/mailman/listinfo/sunmanagersReceived on Mon Oct 28 17:02:04 2002
