Thanks for the MANY replies I received. Unfortunately (from all of your replies) it was as I expected - you cant NFS export the base partition and hope to export the mount points as well... From the well known Casper Dik... :-) Recursive mounts are not possible (the main thing that makes it impossible is the fact that NFS clients cannot detect mount point traversal and POSIX requires inodes within a filesystem to be unique; i.e., the three filesystems must have a unique filesystem id on the client. Unfortunately we have a strange NIS+/automount config here that doesn't work when you attempt to export all of the drives... :-( I will investigate further... Thanks again for all of your help!
