Original question was about installing the SunOne Application Server 7 and getting "installation aborted by user or stopped on error" messages. Evidently the installer for the Solaris 8 version of the product is seriously broken. According to the online forum for this product numerous others have had this problem and Sun engineers are trying to sort it out. Essentially, the installer tries to install several packages, but if the installer quits for any reason it improperly uninstalls the packages. This leaves the machine with packages that can't be uninstalled, but are not fully installed. Subsequent runs of the installer abort because of this. In short it creates a real mess on your system. I would suggest that you stay away from this product until Sun gets their act together on it. I'm not sure how this will affect the stability of my systems but it has me worried.
