Hi,

Sorry about the delay of my summary, I have been absent.

My question was:

Is there a way on a server which started headless, to force the
initialization of the keyboard and of the monitor, while the system and
Unix are actually running and without interfering with its normal
operations?...

With some precisions:
Is there a way on a server which started headless, to force the
initialization of the keyboard and of the monitor, while the system and
Unix are actually running and without interfering with its normal
operations?... (we're using a KVM switch between two servers, and it can
happen that one has to bootup without the monitor)

And thanks to Casper Dik for his clear answer:

No, you cannot redirect the kernel console I/O after boot.
The KVM switch should pretend a keyboard is present at all time
(or use a serial line conentrator and serial consoles)

Best regards, Eric
