I still get mails on a regular base from people who find my posting in the
net and ask if I found a solution for it. Short answer: unfortunately not.

We found some kind of workaround to get rid of the problem: We recreate
the user password *and* the user credentials in NIS+, like this most of
the users are able to login again afterwards. However, there are some
user/machine combinations where it still does not work for whatever
reason. This is not a fix but it's better than nothing.

We stopped investigating a lot into this problem because we move the whole
NIS+ to LDAP now.

I got some tips back then from the list but none of them solved our
problem.
