Well my brain deffiniely isn't working well today. I was putting in the IP address of the ARRAY instead of the HOST under server setup in the ssconsole GUI which is deffinitely why it didn't work. I went through the configuration steps and now I can also telnet into the box. Here's my original question. I have a V250 with Solaris 9 on it. I installed the CLI packages 1 SUNWsccli Sun StorEdge(tm) 3000 Family CLI (sparc) 1.5.0,REV=2004.02.03.12.27 2 SUNWscsa Sun StorEdge(tm) Diagnostic Reporter daemon (sparc) 1.5.0,REV=2004.02.03.13.26 3 SUNWscsd Sun StorEdge(tm) Configuration Service Agent (sparc) 1.5.0,REV=2004.02.02.13.24 4 SUNWscsu Sun StorEdge(tm) Configuration Service Console (sparc) 1.5.0,REV=2004.02.03.13.25 5 SUNWscui Sun StorEdge(tm) Diagnostic Reporter console (sparc) 1.5.0,REV=2004.02.03.13.26 and The daemons are running root 235 1 0 09:34:17 ? 0:00 /usr/sbin/ssmon root 231 1 0 09:34:16 ? 0:00 /usr/sbin/ssserver I can connect to the Array via the tip command no problem. I've configured the 3310 using tip and can see the array no problem. I added an IP address to the 3310 and can ping the Array from any host. Trouble is when I execute ssconsole and add the array I get the "discovering" message and it never connects to the array. Are there any tricks to get ssconsole to connect to the 3310? I was told by the SUN rep that I have to be able to telnet into the array before ssconsole can connect. Is this correct? When I try to telnet into the array it just says trying to connect but never does. I didn't notice any references to telnet in the CLI manual. Thanks much!
