All; Brian Beers suggested something which solved my problem. He suggested that I run the profile listing each shared ID one at a time to determine when it bombs. I had a shared user account "ct". Since the 'who' command started returning the date "Oct 1", a match was made, and the test succeeded, and all people logging in were trapped by the test. Talk about a "BFO" (Blinding Flash of the Obvious). Many thanks to Brian (BBeers@verisign.com), and these others: Christopher McNabb (cmcnabb@vt.edu) - who suggested an alternative method which I am investigating. Roland.Merk@AUDI.DE crist.clark@globalstar.com - who pointed out a weakness in the process I am using ramanathan meyyappan (ramanathan@walla.com) And I wish to thank all those who are on vacation. I'll be on vacation next week, but I promise I won't tell the world.
