Thanks to: Joe Fletcher Chris Dantos Chris has suggested to use ldd command to trace where the code breaks and Joe suggested to apply all patches for the picld. I have tried both ways and it leads me to understand my problem is due to the devices tree problem. After reading the Sun Doc 17643 and use the tips from the document. I was able to get rid of the error message and prtdiag command is now working fine too. Thanks. Here is the original question: To All Helpers: I have Sun V880 running Solaris 2.8 with 8_Recommended patch applied. I have seen messages like following shown up in /var/adm/messages log and could not figure out why. ld.so.1: /usr/lib/picl/picld: fatal: libpsvcobj.so.1: open failed: No such file or directory The prtdiag also failed to get the environment info out the system. Any help and tips are greatly appreciated in advance.
