Well I did not get many answer to my question. Thanks anyway to Lucien Hercaud for his contribution. I went farther in my investigations and found that the vxfentsthdw command could be used to test the issue. The answer to my question is YES. The Sun StorEdge 3510-FC disk-array supports the Veritas I/O Fencing feature. I created a test disk-group with some disks/LUNs configured on my Sun StorEdge 3510-FC and ran the following command: /opt/VRTSvcs/vxfen/bin/vxfentsthdw -g io-fencing-test It asked for the name of two nodes part of the cluster and required to have remote shell (RSH) configured between those nodes. It went then through a certain number of tests and output the evolution on screen. Something like: bash-2.05# /opt/VRTSvcs/vxfen/bin/vxfentsthdw -g io-fencing-test VERITAS vxfentsthdw version 4.0 Solaris The utility vxfentsthdw works on the two nodes of the cluster. The utility verifies that the shared storage one intends to use is configured to support I/O fencing. It issues a series of vxfenadm commands to setup SCSI-3 registrations on the disk, verifies the registrations on the disk, and removes the registrations from the disk. ******** WARNING!!!!!!!! ******** THIS UTILITY WILL DESTROY THE DATA ON THE DISK!! Do you still want to continue : [y/n] (default: n) y Enter the first node of the cluster: gimli Enter the second node of the cluster: sam ************************* Testing gimli Disk_16 sam Disk_20 Registering keys on disk /dev/rdsk/c5t600C0FF00000000007E774766975E30Cd0s2 from node gimli ......... The disk is now ready to be configured for I/O Fencing on node gimli. ALL tests on the disk Disk_20 have PASSED. The disk is now ready to be configured for I/O Fencing on node sam.
