Thanks to all those who responded. One respondant suggested that if the system is in a cooled environment (which it is), then this might be indicative that one of the CPUs is going bad. I checked the CPU temps, and both are staying around 42C - 46C in a room that is kept between 65F - 69F year round. Another respondant also suggested that if Solaris is fully patched, then it is indeed most likely a flaky CPU. Finally, another respondant suggested that CPU/Bus errors could originate in the CPU, memory, motherboard, or the system bus. Thanks again to all those who responded. I also located a sunmanagers thread dealing with a similar issue: http://sunportal.sunmanagers.org/pipermail/summaries/2004-November/005870.html In our case, since this is a high availability production system, I decided to proactively open a case with Sun, since the machine is still under hardware warranty. Their conclusion is that CPU0 is the issue and needs to be replaced. So, they're shipping a replacement CPU out to us. Stanley E.
