Hi, I've managed to download some other DCA images & follow the instructions at the following url & got a working floppy : http://www.sun.drydog.com/faq/4.html#4.11 Now, I'm left with getting the large Sol 9 x86 CD (dont want DVD as I dont think the IDS box has DVD drive). BTW, which CD is that? Is that CD1/3, 2/3 or ?. I suppose a Sol 10 or Sol 9 x86 can be used to do password recovery for a Sol 8, right? Presumably, just like Sparc, the later the CD, the more up-to-date drivers it has. Thanks & sorry for the frequent post, G Sun Gold Sun <goldsun8@yahoo.com.sg> wrote: Hi, If anybody can mail me (to goldsun8@yahoo.com.sg) the DCA (in self-extracting), will appreciate it. My Cisco IDS is version 4 & I suspect it's running Solaris 8 for x86. Also, we could not locate our Solaris for Intel CD as well - so if anyone can point to me a website/url to download it, will most appreciate it. If there's any method that doesn't require the DCA floppy to recover this box, that's even better - I'm under pressure. Sigh, the workplace is a mess Thanks G Sun Gold Sun <goldsun8@yahoo.com.sg> wrote: Hi We have Cisco IDS 4235 & one book (Cisco Security Professional's Guide to Securite Intrusion Detection) says it's running Solaris for Intel & gave the password recovery as follows : *************************** start of book extract ************************** In order to carry out the password recovery procedures, you'll need : Solaris for Intel CD-ROM.
