[SUMMARY] patch 112438-03 /dev/random

 for there fast help. I just had to do an "add_drv random" to create the
entry in /etc/name_to_major , after which it was no problem to create the
devices.

Hi all,


 I am fighting to install the /dev/random/package on two of my solaris 8
servers. As I am not able to do a reboot I used Andrew J. Caines fine
summary here at sunmanagers. The problem is that I have no entrys for random
within the /etc/name_to_major and so can not create the devices. Is it
possible to just edit the /etc/name_to_major and add these entries, using a
major number not alreday used ?
