Hi, Many many thanks, there's more than 30 replies, so briefly : http://www.sunfreeware.com or more precisely, ftp://ftp.sunfreeware.com/pub/freeware/sparc/9/samba-3.0.10-sol9-sparc-local.gz However the above urls only has up to Ver 3.0.10 (was hoping for .13 onwards). The place below has the .13 version but alas it's only 64bit version(believe our SunFire120 is 32 bit): ftp://ftp.patriots.net So I make do with the .10 version from sunfreeware which I've managed to 'pkgadd -d ./samba-3.0.10-sol9-sparc-local.pkg' but unfortunately I have a problem with this new installation : # pwd /usr/local/samba/sbin # ./smbd -V ld.so.1: ./smbd: fatal: libiconv.so.2: open failed: No such file or directory Killed (will raise a separate email for this). The logs below showed the pkgadd steps went thru: # pkgadd -d ./samba-3.0.10-sol9-sparc-local.pkg The following packages are available: 1 SMCsamba samba (sparc) 3.0.10 Select package(s) you wish to process (or 'all' to process all packages). (default: all) [?,??,q]: all Processing package instance <SMCsamba> from </var/tmp/patch/samba-3.0.10-sol9-sparc-local.pkg> samba (sparc) 3.0.10 . . . . . /usr/local/samba/swat/using_samba/toc.html [ verifying class <none> ] Installation of <SMCsamba> was successful. There's also directories for binaries for AIX & Linux at that website but they're all empty in the samba website. I will summarize. I'm not able to compile Samba on our SunFire 120 as there's no C compiler on it & it's quite a hassle for me to raise change requests to install C compiler. When I tried to compile error is : # ./configure checking for gcc... no checking for cc... no checking for cc... no checking for cl... no configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH See `config.log' for more details. # more config.log This file contains any messages produced by compilers while running configure, to aid debugging if configure makes a mistake.
