Hi Gurus, Well I was playing with this and found that if you don't use jumpstart profile to upgrade from Solaris2.6 to Solaris 8 it works. However if I use jumpstart profile switch -j it gives "Segmentation Fault". Other issue is if I install the patch cluster after Live Upgrade it ends with "Segmentation Fault". I haven't found the solution this. If I find one I will post the Summary. Gurus if you have solution to this problem please do share with me. Here is my command to patch the live upgrade: luupgrade -t -n "Solaris_8" \ -s /opt/install/config/patches/Solaris2.8_Latest_090505/8_Recommended -O "-M /opt/install/config/patches/Solaris2.8_Latest_090505/8_Recommended patch_order" Snip.... Checking installed patches... Re-installing patch 117350-27... One or more patch packages included in 117350-27 are not installed on this system. Patchadd is terminating. Unmounting the BE <Solaris_8>. The patch add to the BE <Solaris_8> completed. Segmentation Fault Warm Regards B -----Original Message----- From: Bhavesh Shah Sent: Tuesday, August 30, 2005 6:16 PM To: Bhavesh Shah; sunmanagers@sunmanagers.org Subject: UPDATE: Live Upgrade Help Hi Gurus, I figured out the problem. It was typo in the lucreate command near /opt (s was missing) .After rectifying that I was able to create BE but while in upgrade process it failed with error "segmentation fault". luupgrade -u -n "Solaris_8" -s /install/Solaris_28_503/ -j /install/config/liveupgrade/upgrade Snip..... Or just partition will do? 2) On Jumpstart Box what steps I need to follow besides creating a profile file which contains - "install_type upgrade" ? 3) How do I select cluster type? Cluster SUNWCall? 4) How do I select the Patch Cluster for Solaris 8 on jumpstart Box?
