Hello All, I got this from SUN: Hi The two topmost reasons for the ethernet port on the RSC card not working are: 1. tpe_link_test setting rscadm set tpe_link_test true/false rscadm resetrsc after making changes 2. Switch port setting on the router. Try using 10M half duplex in the router. Thank you, Paul Quattrociocchi Sun Support Services I finally got it right. Its basically a network issue. I got my network guru to set the port on the router to 10, Half Duplex. Thanks to all those who replied: ashish.achuthan@wipro.com Hudes, Dana [hudesd@hra.nyc.gov] Paveza, Gary [gary.paveza@AIG.COM] All my settings and config was fine. Installed and tested RSC with: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------ # ./rscadm shownetwork IP Address: 10.13.50.2 Gateway address: 10.13.1.1 Netmask: 255.255.0.0 Ethernet address: 00:03:ba:cd:37:9d ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------ # ./rscadm status RSC Version v2.2.3 RSC Bootmon Version: v2.2.2 RSC Bootmon checksum: 10F5D0CC RSC Firmware Version: v2.2.3 RSC Build Release: 01 RSC firmware checksum: 6D1CAD09 RSC firmware built: Jan 18 2005, 16:35:07 RSC System Memory Size 8 MB RSC NVRAM Version = 4 RSC hardware type: 4 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------ # ifconfig -a lo0: flags=2001000849<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4,VIRTUAL> mtu 8232 index 1 inet 127.0.0.1 netmask ff000000 eri0: flags=1000843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4> mtu 1500 index 2 inet 10.13.50.1 netmask ffff0000 broadcast 10.13.255.255 ether 0:3:ba:b0:37:af # ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------ # ./rscadm version RSC Version v2.2.3 RSC Bootmon Version: v2.2.2 RSC Firmware Version: v2.2.3 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------ I have done: ok diag-console rsc ok setenv input-device rsc-console ok setenv output-device rsc-console ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------ So everything seems to be fine except that connecting to the server with RSC client just does not work. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----------------------------------- Ping 10.13.50.2 times out (10.13.50.2 is the RSC, 10.13.50.1 is the server) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----------------------------------------- Platform: V890, Solaris 10 3/05 Thanks in advance. This is still a test server so not time critical, but any insights are very appreciated. Regards, Abhimanyu.
