Thank you Oscar and Jim. They said to check permissions on the patch directory and sub directories. Patchadd does some things using "nobody" world-readable I just ran: chmod -R 777 /0CNCSW to make sure I must say this was a novice mistake that I discovered after the fact. Notice: Caused my errors in my orig. msg /0CNCSW/122033-04/122033-04/##WITH ACTUAL PATCH STUFF HERE## This was a downloaded and unzipped patch. This creates a directory with the patch directory inside it, same name. I guess that messes with patchadd if the name isn't changed or if the actual patch directory isn't removed from the double name directory. I have never actually installed individual patches, just clusters. So what I did was I unzipped a cluster and looked at the patches inside and notice they didn't have double named directories. That is when I moved the directory that actually had the information to the "root" dir, thus removing it from the double nested named dir. So I had this and it worked /0CNCSW/122033-04/##WITH ACTUAL PATCH STUFF HERE## Thank you all, I hope this summary is helpful to future people with this problem.
