Thanks to Casper Dik from SUN.

The limit is 2GB if running 32bit kernel (as per Casper's mail below)
and 2^63-1 bytes if running 64bit kernel as per the swap manpage.

AFAIK, that's only a problem for 32 bit kernels. (And there the limit
is 2GB and not 4)

	Hi all,

	I am running solaris 8 SPARC on an e250 ( 5.8 Generic_108528-23
sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-250 ) and need add more swap.
	Can I add a swapfile of 10gb using swap -a
/path/to/swap-filename or must I create multiple slices of 4gb each and
add that manually as suggested by another sysadmin.

	The reason for this is that I have been told that Solaris 8
cannot access swap that is contiguously on more than 4gb either block
device or file size.

	Server is running in 64bit:

	$ isainfo -kv
	64-bit sparcv9 kernel modules

	$ isainfo -b
	64

	Thanks
	Sugan Moodley
	Unix Sysadm
