Thanks for the suggestions. I'm sorry my search foo failed. I did search google and do a specific google search of the Sun Managers Summary archives with no luck. Some specifics that I missed and was asked: 1. It's as if the keyboard is disabled. There is no response and I need to close the window. 2. The system is remote so I'm not able to personally power down the system to reset the sc. 3. I did try ipmptool but it reports errors on the driver so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. I've used ipmptool to retrieve info from various systems before so it's been successfully used before. And a big thanks to the BOFH's out there who suggested I try better search terms and quit bothering the list with problems that have occurred before. It's always a pleasure to get e-mail support from a real seasoned professional. Ultimately one of the network guys happened to be in the data center for something else and he was nice enough to pull the plugs which gave me access again. I have no idea still why the ALOM refused to accept input and having to power down the system to gain access isn't an optimum solution, especially when the data center is in Miami and I'm in Denver. Pleasant day everyone.
