The solution was to # /etc/init.d/volmgt stop # mount -F hsfs -o ro /dev/dsk/c0t6d0s0 /mnt1 Below is my original question I have a 280R with Solaris 9 with an internal CD rom drive. When I push the button to the drive the drawer opens as normal. When I put a cd in the tray and close the door the cd never mounts under /cdrom. vold is running # ps -ef |grep vold root 240 1 0 Dec 01 ? 0:00 /usr/sbin/vold I seem to recall there was a patch that fixed this particular problem. Any help would be appreciated. # cat /etc/release Solaris 9 s9_58shwpl3 SPARC Copyright 2002 Sun Microsystems, Inc. All Rights Reserved. Use is subject to license terms.
